RESOLUTION APPROVING THE CHANHASSEN 2023 PAY PLAN
WHEREAS, the City of Chanhassen desires to be an Employer of Choice and attract and retain top
candidates to provide excellent service to Chanhassen residents, businesses, and visitors; and
WHEREAS, in 2020, the city identified the need to conduct a comprehensive compensation and
classification study. The need stemmed from the time elapsed since the last update to the Compensation
Plan (2016) as well as significant feedback/concern received from employees through the employee survey
and collective bargaining; and
WHEREAS, in 2021, the City identified "Operational Excellence" as a Strategic Priority in the
2021-2024 Strategic Plan. Completing and implementing the Compensation and Classification Study was
identified as a strategic initiative; and
WHEREAS, the classification and compensation plan has been updated to align with the 2023
budget which has been submitted to the City Council for review and approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Chanhassen,
Minnesota, that the following actions are approved:
1. The Chanhassen City Council adopts the 2023 Pay Plan.
2. All employees including the City Manager will receive a 3.0% COLA increase as of January 1,
2022.
3. Direct the City Manager to proceed with the ongoing implementation and maintenance of the
compensation plan and its components.
