80-39A ... ._ .,I,,, e CITY OF CHANHASSEN CARVER AND HENNEPIN COUNTIES, MINNESOTA RESOLUTION Dated October 13, 1980 Motion by Councilman Geving Resolution No. 80-39A Seconded by Councilman Pearson AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR NEW FIRE DEPARTMENT PUMPER TRUCK WHEREAS, it has been determined that a need exists for a new pumper truck for the Fire Department of the City of Chanhassen, and WHEREAS, the City has given the required notice and has solicited sealed bids, and WHEREAS, the low bids were from General Safety Corporation and Pirsch & Sons, respectively, and WHEREAS, said sealed bids have been opened and a determination made on the basis of price, quality and conformation to City specifications, and e WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes Section 412.311 requires that public contracts be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS FOLLOWS: 1. It is hereby found and determined that Pirsch & Sons, 1308 35th Street, Kenosha, Wisconsin, is the lowest responsible bidder of the parties submitting bids for the following reasons: a. a higher degree of quality control, fit, and finish of the products supplied by this bidder, b. a higher degree of compatibility of equipment supplied by this bidder with existing equipment maintained by the fire department, c. a higher degree of compliance with the plans and specifications upon which the call for bids was based, d. an easier maintenance program for the pump unit contained in the equipment supplied by this bidder, and e. a faster delivery time for the pumper truck. 2. The contract to provide said pumper truck is hereby awarded to Pirsch & Sons, 1308 35th Street, Kenosha, Wisconsin,on a bid of $95,292.00. e -:' . e Passed and adopted by the 13th day of October, 1980.
