Project: Solar Variance Request Planning case 2024-07
Addressing the Staff summary report & staff recommendation:
The following concerns:
The variance should be denied on grounds that it will be an eyesore.
The project will be viewed by neighboring properties due high elevation and
another 10 ft on top of the high elevation.
Also the solar panels could be installed on the house roof which is not obstructed
from the sun.
1. Solar panels produce more toxic waste than nuclear power plants
2. Solar panel manufacturing releases greenhouse gases
3. Land use of solar panels & fields can hurt the environment
4. Solar Panels pose a fire risk
5. Solar Panels have a relatively short lifespan
6. Specialist infrastructure to creative facilities to recycle is severely lacking to
take effect in this country
7. Currently 2.5 billion solar panels installed will lose efficiency in the
upcoming years.
Our property shares a back yard with this property. We will be affected the most
by the impact of this 40ft by 10ft high eyesore. We are a residential neighborhood
not a farming area. We due have bigger lots that other home owners don't have.
The houses in this neighborhood range from $500,000 to $1,000.000. This is a
lake country area with Minnetonka, Christmas and lake Lucy within a mile or two.
This will be a detriment to the area
