SUBJ:
Authorize Emergency Sprinkling and Irrigation Ban
REQUESTED ACTION
Staff is requesting the City Council authorize an Emergency Sprinkling and
Irrigation Ban.
DISCUSSION
Due to the on-going drought, two wells in the City have failed in the last week
and one of the aquifers the city uses has dropped to very low, critical levels. The
City cannot support the current usage and must require all business and residential
users to stop sprinkling and irrigating immediately. Once staff has determined the
system can support watering again, staff will recommend the ban be lifted.
RECOMMENDATION
City Council authorize an Emergency Sprinkling and Irrigation Ban.
