ORDINANCE NO. 9-C
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 9-B ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE
PROHIBITING THE DISCHARGE OF FIREARMS AND WEAPONS WITHIN THE CITY
OF CHANHASSEN AND FOR THE PROMOTION OF SAFETY AND GENERAL WELFARE
OF THE PEOPLE" ADOPTED ON AUGUST 3, 1981.
THE CHANHASSEN CITY COUNCIL ORDAINS:
Section 1. Section 8 of Ordinance 9-B is hereby amended by add-
ing thereto subparagraphs a) and b) to read as follows:
Section 8. DNR Monitored Huntin
a) General Provision: The City Council, by resolution,
may from time to time authorize special Department of
Natural Resources monitored hunting to reduce wildlife
overpopulation in "No Shooting Areas" on an "as necessary"
basis. The City of Chanhassen shall send out written
notices to adjacent property owners not less than ten
(10) days prior to the commencement of the monitored
hunting period.
b) Raguet Wildlife Management Area: Hunting permits shall
not be required for the Department of Natural Resources
monitored hunting in the Raguet Wildlife Management Area,
provided that:
1) The Department of Natural Resources continues to
comply with the conditions on file in City Hall mutually
agreed to between the City of Chanhassen and DNR
for controlled hunting within said Raguet Wildlife
Management Area; and
2) That the City of Chanhassen and DNR are successful
in approving a new agreement governing hunting within
the Raguet Wildlife Management Area at the termination
of the current agreement.
Section 2. Effective Date.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after
its publication.
Adopted by the City Council this 20th day of May 1985.
