ORDINANCE 22-A
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 9 AND SUBSECTION 12 of SECTION 3
• OF ORDINANCE NO. 22, THE CITY OF CHANHASSEN NUISANCE ORDINANCE.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF CHANHASSEN ORDAINS:
Section 1. Subsection 12 of Section 3 of Ordinance No.
22, the Chanhassen Nuisance Ordinance, adopted February 5, 1968, is
hereby amended to delete subsection 12 thereof and to substitute there-
fore the following subsection 12:
12. The keeping of horses, cattle, swine, sheep, goats,
rabbits, dogs, or other animals or fowl so as to result in offensive
odors or disagreeable noises to the discomfort of adjacent property
owners, and allowing any animal or fowl to run at large. For purposes
of this or dinarce, "at large" means off the premises of the owner and
not under restraint, and "owner" means any person, firm or corporation
who shall own, harbor, or keep or have custody of an animal, or the
parents or guardians of a person under eighteen years of age who
shall own, harbor, keep or have custody of an animal.
• Section 2. Section 9, "Penalties", of Ordinance No. 22,
the Chanhassen Nuisance Ordinance, adopted February 5, 1968, is
hereby amended to delete said Section 9 and substitute therefore
the following Section 9:
Section 9. Penalties.
Any person who shall cause or create a nuisance, or
permit any nuisance to be created or to remain upon any premises owned
or occupied by him, and any person who shall fail to comply with any
order made under the provisions of this ordinance, upon conviction
thereof, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be punished by
a fine of not more than Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) or by im-
prisonment in the county jail for not more than ninety (90) days.
Each day that a violation continues shall constitute a separate
offense.
Section 3. Effective Date. This ordinance shall be effective
from and after its passage and publication.
Passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Chanhassen
this 8th day of October, 1979.

it purports to serve, has at least 500 copies regularly delivered to paying subscribers, has an average of at least, 75% of its
total circulation currently paid or no more than three months in arrears and has entry as second-class matter in its local
post -office. (5) Said newspaper purports to serve the City of Chaska in the County of Carver and it has its known
office of issue in the City of Chaska in said county, established and open during its regular business hours for the
gathering of news, sale of advertisements and sale of subscriptions and maintained by the managing officer of said
newspaper, persons in its employ and subject to his direction and control during all such regular business hours and at
which said newspaper is printed. (6) Said newspaper files a copy of each issue immediately with the State Historical
Society. (7) Said newspaper has complied with all the foregoing conditions for at least one year preceding the day or dates
of publication mentioned below. (8) Said newspaper has filed with the Secretary of State of Minnesota prior to January 1,
1966 and each January 1 thereafter an affidavit in the form prescribed by the Secretary of State and signed by the
managing officer of said newspaper and sworn to before a notary public stating that the newspaper is a legal newspaper.
