ORDINANCE NO. 23-C
AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE 1982 EDITION OF THE UNIFORM BUILDING
• CODE, INCLUDING SPECIFIC CHAPTERS OF THE UBC APPENDIX, BY
AMENDING SECTION 1, SECTION 2.1, SECTION 3.3, AND SECTION 3.6 OF
ORDINANCE NO. 23-B.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHANHASSEN HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION 1. Section 1 of Ordinance No. 23-B is hereby amended
to read as follows:
Section 1. Building Code. The 1980 Edition of the
Minnesota State Building Code, as revised, one copy of
which is on file in the office of the City Clerk, is
hereby adopted as the Building Code of the City of
Chanhassen and incorporated in this ordinance as com-
pletely as if set out in full.
SECTION 2. Section 2.1 of Ordinance No. 23-B is hereby
amended to read as follows:
is Section 2. Additional Codes. The following codes,
adopted by reference as a part of the 1980 Edition of
* the State Building Code, as revised, are adopted by
reference and incorporated herein as a part of the
Building Code of the City of Chanhassen.
1. 1982 Edition of the Uniform Building Code, iden-
tified as "UBC";
SECTION 3. Sections 3.3 and 3.6 of Ordinance No. 23-B are
hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 3. Appendices, Standards, and Supplemental
Materials. Certain Appendices, Standards and
Supplemental Materials referenced in the 1980 Edition of
the State Building Code, as revised, are hereby adopted
by reference as part of the Building Code of the City of
Chanhassen and incorporated into this ordinance as
completely as if set out in full:
3. 1982 UBC Appendix, Chapters 1, 7, 11, 12, 32, 35,
38, 53, and 55.
' ! 6. 1982 UBC Appendix, Chapter 70.
SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall become effective from and
after the date of its passage and official publication.

weekly and is distributed at least once each week for 50 weeks each year. (3) In at least half of its issues each year has no
more than 75 percent of its printed space comprised of advertising material and paid legal notices; and in all of its issues
each year, has 50 percent of its news columns devoted to news of local interest to the community which it purports to
serve, and not more than 25 percent of its total nonadvertising column inches in any issues wholly duplicates any other
publication unless the duplicated material is from recognized general news services. (4) Said newspaper is circulated in
and near Chaska and has at least 500 copies regularly delivered to paying subscribers and has entry as second-class mat-
ter at the Chaska Post Office. (5) Said newspaper has its known office of issue established in Carver County in which lies
the City of Chaska. (6) Said newspaper files a copy of each issue immediately with the State Historical Society. (7) Said
newspaper is available at single or subscription prices to any person, corporation, partnership or other incorporated
association requesting the newspaper and making applicable payment. (8) Said newspaper has complied with all the
foregoing conditions of this subdivision for at least one year last past. (9) Said newspaper has filed with the Secretary of
State of Minnesota prior to January 1, 1976 and each January 1 thereafter an affidavit in the form prescribed by the
Secretary of State and signed by the managing officer of said newspaper and sworn to before a notary public stating that
the newspaper is a legal newspaper.
