Ordinance 024aVILLAGE OF CHANHASSE. �ENNEPIN AND CARVER COUNTIES, MINNESOTF. ORDINANCE NO. 24-A I AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 19 AND SECTION 21 OF ORDINANCE NO. 24 ADOPTED MARCH 4, 1968, AND ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE LICENSING AND REGULATING DOGS, PROVIDING FOR IMPOUNDING DOGS, AND PRESCRIBING A PENALTY FOR VIOLATION". The Council of the Village of Chanhassen Ordains: Section 1. Section 19 of Ordinance No. 24 of the Village of Chanhassen adopted by the Village Council on March 4, 1968, is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 19. Vaccination. No license shall be granted for a dog which has not been vaccinated against rabies as provided in this Section. The rabies vaccination must be in effect for the entire year of the license period. Vaccination shall be performed only by a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine qualified to practice in the State in which the dog is vaccinated. A Veterinarian who vaccinates a dog to be licensed in the Village shall complete a Certificate of Vaccination in triplicate. One copy shall be issued to the dog owner for affixing to the license application, one shall be sent to the Minnesota State Live Stock Sanitary Board, and one copy shall be retained in the Veterinarian's files. Section 2. Section 21 of Ordinance No. 24 of the Village of Chanhassen adopted by the Village Council on March 4, 1968, is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 21. Kennels. No person, firm or corporation shall maintain in this Village a kennel where dogs are kept for sale, boarding,or any other purpose without securing a license therefor from the Village Council. The license fee shall be $25.00 per year. This fee shall be in addition to the license fee prescribed in the preceding sections for each dog kept in such kennel. (a) Renewal of Kennel License. Upon application for renewal of a kennel license, an inspection shall be made by an authorized Village employee to insure that the kennel has been maintained in a neat, orderly and safe condition. The kennel license shall be renewed by the Village Clerk upon Village Council approval provided the kennel has been so maintained and no complaints have been received concerning said kennel.
