ORDINANCE NO. 166
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2, ARTICLE VI
OF THE CHANHASSEN CITY CODE CONCERNING THE
CITY'S PUBLIC SAFETY LIAISON COMMISSION
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHANHASSEN ORDAINS:
Section 1. Section 2-68, subparagraphs (a) and (b) of the
Chanhassen City Code are amended to read:
(a) The public safety commission shall consist of
seven (7) voting members. One (1) of the members shall be
appointed by the City Council from among its own members.
The other members shall be residents of the City who are
neither City officials, employees of the City, or employees
of the police agency.
(b) The term of the council member of the commission
shall be three (3) years, or such shorter period of time as
• may coincide with the council member's term of office as a
member of the City Council.
Section 2. Section 2-69 of the Chanhassen City Code is
amended to read:
(a) The public safety commission shall elect a chair
and acting chair from among its members for terms of one (1)
year. The chair shall preside at all meetings of the
commission and at each meeting, the chair shall submit such
recommendations and information as the chair may consider
proper concerning the business, affairs, and policies of the
commission. The City Manager or the City Manager's designee
shall act as secretary to the commission, but shall not be a
member.
(b) The commission shall hold at least one (1) regular
meeting each month. It shall adopt rules for the transaction
of business and shall keep a record of its resolutions,
transactions, and findings, which record shall be a public
record.
section 3. Section 2-71 of the Chanhassen City Code is
hereby repealed.
• Section 4. This ordinance shall be effective immediatel.y
upon its passage and publication.

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2, ARTICLE VI OF THE
CHANHASSEN CITY CODE CONCERNING THE CITY'S LIAISON COMMISSION
On April 27, 1992, the Chanhassen City Council adopted an ordinance
amending Chapter 2, Article VI of the Chanhassen City Code
concerning the City's Public Safety Liaison Commission. A printed
copy of the ordinance is available for inspection by any person
during regular office hours at the office of the City Clerk at
Chanhassen City Hall, 690 Coulter Drive, Chanhassen, Minnesota.
The intent of this ordinance is to set the number of voting members
on the Commission at seven (7); to establish the term of each
Commission member at three (3) years; and, to repeal the
requirement of an annual report.
This ordinance is in full force effective upon its passage and
publication.
