RESOLUTION REQUESTING TRAFFIC LANE DEMARCATION ON STATE HIGHWAY 7
WHEREAS, the citizens of Chanhassen and its City Council have
serious concerns about recent fatalities involving traffic movement
on State Highway No.7, and Chanhassen and Shorewood streets intersecting
with said highway, and
WHEREAS, citizens of Chanhassen by petition have requested
the City Council to seek traffic lane demarcation on State Highway No. 7
in order to alleviate hazardous traffic conditions thereon, and
WHEREAS, the concerns of the City Council have been expressed
in written communications to State Senator Bob Schmitz, State Representa-
tive K. J. MacDonald and the Minnesota Department of Transportation;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council qf the City
of Chanhassen that the Minnesota Department of Transportation is
requested to stripe and sign State Highway No. 7 in the cities of
Chanhassen and Shorewood, as follows:

1.
To provide a west-bound by-pass at Greenbriar and Fir Tree.
2. To provide a west-bound by-pass lane in conjunction with a
right turn lane for a private entrance left turn at Dogwwod and Cypress.
3.
To provide a west-bound tight turn lane at Eureka Road.
4. To provide a combination west-bound right turn and by-pass
lane at Arbor Lane right turn and Seamans Drive left turn.
5. To provide a combination west-bound right turn and by-pass lane
at Washta Bay Road right turn and Pleasant Avenue left turn.
6. To provide a west-bound by-pass lane at Sandpiper Avenue
right turn.
7.
To provide a west-bound right turn lane at Wood Drive left turn.
8. To provide street name signs for both Chanhassen and Shorewood
streets at their entrance to State Highway No.7.
