PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, Each of our citizens and elected officials have a
duty and responsibility for the National Security of our country;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED That the City Council of the
City of Chanhassen requests that our Federal Government take
whatever steps are necessary to stop the nuclear arms race.
Specifically, we hereby request the adoption of a mutual freeze
on testing, production, and development of nuclear weapons and
of mi:ssiles and new aircraft designed primarily to deliver
nuclear weapons. We believe that this is an essential,
veritable first step towards lessening the risk of nuclear war
and reducing the nuclear arsenal.
