83-01 e e e CITY OF CHANHASSEN CARVER AND HENNEPIN COUNTIES, MINNESOTA RESOLUTION DATE: January 17, 1983 83-01 RESOLUTION NO: MOTION BY COUNCILMAN: Geving Hamilton SECONDED BY COUNCILMAN: A RESOLUTION ENCOURAGING THE CARVER COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS TO REVALUE ALL LANDS WITHIN CARVER COUNTY IN ORDER TO CREATE A LEVEL OF ASSESSMENT CONSISTENT WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF REVENUE WHEREAS, at a meeting of the Carver County Board of Commissioners on November 29, 1982 it was stated that the Minnesota Department of Revenue requires that all land be assessed between 85% and 90% of its market value as established through sales: and WHEREAS, it was also stated that the average ratio of assessed value to market value for township agricultural land between between July l, 1980 and June 30, 1982 was 73.9%: and WHEREAS, the same ratio for residential property in the muni- cipalities of the county over the same period of time was 92.1%, while the ratio for residential property in the townships was 79.6%. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED That the Mayor and City Council of the City of Chanhassen believe that: l. All classes of property throughout Carver County should be assessed consistently with the State requirements. 2. There should not be the inequity in ratio of assessed value to market value for the various classes of property in Carver County as was demonstrated from July l, 1980 to June 30, 1982. 3.
