Mark Littfin- Fire Marshal ~ Joe Berg - Training Officer DATE: January 23,2008 SUBJ: Monthly City Council update Fire Department Overview: Staffing is at 45 active firefighters as of January 18, 2008, allocation is 45 PTE's At the council meeting, I will provide the 2007 year end call statistics and the January call summary. Gregg Geske was re-elected Chief during our December elections and Rick Rice has been elected to replace Randy Wahl as 2nd Assistant Chief. Rick will attend the January council meeting to introduce himself. Training: Fire fighters were trained on the SCBA equipment. Fire Marshal: Fire Prevention: Nothing new to report for this month. Fire prevention activities tend to slow down in the winter months and normally pick up when the weather allows for more outdoor participation. Fire Investigations: No fires to report Fire Inspections: Ed Coppersmith is currently inspecting the following businesses in the month of January: Office Max, Chanhassen Cinema, Caribou Coffee strip mall, Toll Welding, Master Collision, Chanhassen Library, Rapid Oil Change, ReMax, Foss Swim School, Booko Bikes, Living Christ Lutheran Church, Brookside Motor Hotel, CVS Pharmacy, Park Nicollet Clinic, Lifetime Fitness, Giant Panda, Goodyear Auto and KleinBank. Todd Gerhardt January 23,2008 Page 2 New construction inspections at various stages of completion: Chanhassen High School, Dell Professional Building, Lifetime Corporate Office, Autobahn Motorplex, SouthWest Village Ramp, MAMAC Properties and Town and Country Town Homes and Condos. All projects are moving ahead and inspections are going well.
