Amend Election Precinct Boundary
TH 101 south of Highway 5 is the boundary line between voting precincts 3
and 4. With the realignment ofTH 101, a portion of old 101 was converted to a
cul-de-sac and renamed Waters Edge Drive. Because the physical location of
the road has changed, it is necessary that the city officially clarify the precinct
boundary line.
State statute requires that precinct boundary lines follow visible, clearly
recognizable physical features. These include streets, roads, boulevards,
parkways, rivers, streams, shorelines, or other lines that are clearly visible from
the ground. The properties in question are highlighted in yellow on the attached
map, and include the Al Klingelhutz farmstead, 8601 Waters Edge Drive (which
was previousl yeast of TH 10 1 and now is on the west side), the new apartment
building on Lake Susan Drive (also west of TH 10 1), and other undeveloped
property.
RECOMMENDA TION
Staff recommends that the boundary line between Precincts 3 & 4 be re-
designated to follow the new alignment of TH 10 1, which will move the
properties highlighted in yellow on the attached sheet from Precinct 3 to
Precinct 4. The registered voters affected by this change (currently 11) will
receive written notification of this change. This boundary adjustment does not
affect county commissioner districts or any other legislative boundary lines.
