This is one ahead of the 116 at the same time in 2007. We had no structure fires since our last council update. We did respond for mutual aid to Victoria to cover while they were on the scene of a large personal injury accident. Fire Marshal: Fire Prevention: Preliminary plans are being made for the summer safety camp and National Night Out. Fire Investigations: The house fire on Canterbury Circle is currently under investigation by the Chanhassen Fire Department and the Carver County Sheriffs Department. Interviews are still being conducted. There are no other fires to report. Fire Inspections: Ed Coppersmith is continuing the process of inspecting and re-inspecting existing businesses. It should take a year to get into each business to insure they are in compliance with the fire codes. Weare also gathering information with regards to the building, type of construction, fire sprinkler systems, and fire alarm systems. Then the information will be entered into the Fire House Todd Gerhardt March 17, 2008 Page 2 computer software data collection system which can be used by our fire chiefs in the event of a fire. This pre-fire information can be used in the tactical application of firefighters and equipment needed. We currently have pre-fire plan drawings from buildings constructed after the early 1990's but it needs to be entered into the Fire House database. There are a number of new buildings currently under construction at various stages. The list hasn't changed from last month. All are progressing well as far as fire code issues are concerned.
