90-107 .- e Extract of Minutes of Meeting of the City Council of the city of Chanhassen, Carver and Hennepin Counties, Minnesota Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Chanhassen, Carver and Hennepin Counties, Minnesota, was held at the city Hall in said city on Monday, September 10, 1990, commencing at 7:30 p.m. The following members were present: Mayor Chmiel, Council- members Johnson, Workman and Dimler. No one was absent. * * * The following resolution was presented by Councilmember Dimler who moved its aqoption: RESOLUTION NO. 90-107 A RESOLUTION DETERMINING THE NECESSITY FOR THE ISSUANCE OF GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS AND CALLING FOR A SPECIAL ELECTION THEREON e BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Chanhassen, Carver and Hennepin Counties, Minnesota (city) as follows: 1. The City Council finds and determines: a. That the question -- "Should the city of Chanhassen acquire, construct and equip a new municipal community center?" -- shall be placed on the ballot of the general election to be held on November 6, 1990; b. That the City is authorized by the prov1s1ons of Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 475 (ACT) to issue its obligations to finance the Project in whole or in part and to pledge its full faith, credit and taxing powers to the paYment of such obligations; c. If approved by the voters, this project will be financed by the issuance and sale of the City's general obligation bonds pursuant to the Act in an amount not to exceed $4,100,000; and 2. The propositions for the issuance of the bonds will be submitted to the voters of the City at a special election to be held on Tuesday, November 6, 1990. The election will be held and conducted in accordance with the laws of the State of Minnesota relating to special municipal elections. . e 3. e The City. Manager is directed to cause a notice of election and sample ballot, in substantially the form attached hereto as Exhibit A and as set forth in paragraph 5 hereof, to be posted and published as required by law as follows: a. The notice of election will be published once in the official newspaper of the city at least two weeks prior to the election; b. The notice of election and a sample ballot must be posted at each of the polling places at least ten days prior to the election; c. The notice of election and a sample ballot will be posted in the office of the City Manager at least four days prior to the election; and d. The sample ballot must be published in the official newspaper at least one week prior to the election. 4. The city Council will meet in the city Hall on November 7, 1990 at 5:00 p.m. to canvass the results of the election and to declare the results thereof. 5. The motion for adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Johnson, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Chmiel, Councilmembers Johnson, Workman and Dimler.
