FRONTAGE ROAD WHICH WOULD TRAVERSE THE RIGHT-OF-WAY AND TRACK
OF THE SOO LINE RAILROAD COMPANY IN CHANHASSEN, MINNESOTA
WHEREAS, a critical element of the Downtown Redevelopment

Highway 101 was relocated to Dakota Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the Dakota Avenue realignment and crossing is the
alternative deemed most acceptable by MnDOT; and
WHEREAS, a Feasibility Study was conducted for the project,
and the City has concluded the improvements are feasible; and
WHEREAS, the construction of the roadways and railroad grade
crossings are programmed for 1991 construction season; and
WHEREAS, the Soo Line Railroad Company has objected to the
installations for reasons of cost and liability, and negotiations
to date have been inconclusive; and
WHEREAS, the Feasibility Study included the capital improve-
ment costs for construction of the grade crossings.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Chanhassen City Council
as follows:
1. The City hereby requests that the Commissioner of the

Railroad Company in Chanhassen, Minnesota.
2. The City Manager and City Attorney are hereby directed
