86-05 tit e e CITY OF CHANHASSEN CARVER AND HENNEPIN COUNTIES, MINNESOTA DATE: January 13, 1986 86-5 RESOLUTION NO: MOTION BY: Swenson SECONDED BY: Horn A RESOLUTION OF THE CHANHASSEN CITY COUNCIL REGARDING THE RILEY CREEK CHAIN OF LAKES CLEAN LAKES PROJECT WHEREAS, the City of Chanhassen is dedicated to the preser- vation and enhancement of the water quality of the lakes of the District, and WHEREAS, the water quality of Lakes Riley, Rice Marsh, Susan, Ann and Lucy could be significantly improved through the imple- mentation of the Riley Creek Chain of Lakes Clean Lakes Project, and WHEREAS, the overall plan of the City and several inter- mediate studies have identified the desirability of implementing measures to improve the in-lake water quality and control non- point source pollution, and WHEREAS, several other agencies have shown a simultaneous interest in the construction and implementation of measures to improve in-lake water quality and control nonpoint source pollu- tion. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHANHASSEN CITY COUNCIL as follows: 1. That the City hereby authorizes its staff to develop an application to the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency for transmittal to the United States Environmental Protection Agency to obtain funding for the implementation of the Riley Creek Chain of Lakes Clean Lakes Project, and 2. That the City will work with all other agencies expressing an interest in the implementation of the Riley Creek Chain of Lakes Project on final plan preparation and securing funds.
