Staffing is at 41 active firefighters and 3 probationary firefighters as of August 15,2008,
allocation is 45 PTE' s.
As of August 15,2008 we have responded to 364 calls, up five calls for the same time in 2007.
There were no structure fires.
Training: This month's training has consisted of Relay Pumping and National Incident
Command System training.
Fire Marshal:
Fire Prevention: Plans are being made for fire prevention week which runs nationally from
Oct. 5th - Oct. 11 th and the annual open house at fire station # 1 on Oct. 1 ih. The FD works
together with our four elementary schools presenting fire prevention messages, station tours, and
hands on practical exercises. This will be our 20th year in working with our schools, educating
our students in the hazards of fire, and knowing what to do if confronted with a dangerous
situation.
Fire Investigations: No significant fires to report on. (The fire ed appears to be working.)

Fire Inspections: Ongoing projects at various stages of construction include the Chanhassen
High School, Carver County License Center, Dell professional building, illI building, Jimmy
Johns, Autobahn Motorplex Clubhouse, Paisley Park remodel, Snap/BIG Building, Southwest
Transit Station, Super Dog, and a number of smaller remodeling projects. All projects from the
FD perspective are moving along well with no immediate problems. All schools in Chanhassen
will be getting inspected in the next few weeks. The State Fire Marshal office inspects schools
every 3 years; we get in them annually, and if there is remodeling happening we may go in more
often.
