year.

Fire Marshal:
Fire Prevention: The Fire Dept. has just completed another very successful season of fire
prevention/education. Although we practice and preach fire prevention year round, we put great
emphasis on working with our four elementary schools during National Fire Prevention week.
Actually because of our involvement, it expands to National Fire Prevention month. The Fire
Dept. has developed programs for our kindergarten students as well as grades 1 thru 5. We also
visit many of our licensed day care centers and pre-school programs. Hundreds of students
recently visited our fire station with many of our firefighters volunteering their time to work with
the children. Most have taken vacation time or have re-arranged their work schedules to be with
the kids. We receive very favorable comments from the many teachers and parents who

accompany the children. I am still amazed at how many residents and parents think that the city
has a full time Fire Dept. and are impressed that we are all volunteers. We believe the teaching
and instructions that children receive have a direct impact on the statement I indicated below, No
fires or injuries to report on.
Fire Investigations: No fires or fire related injuries to report on. All is quiet.
Fire Inspections: Current projects at various stages of construction or recently completed.
Carver County License Center, Chanhassen High School, Minnetonka Middle School, Jimmy
Johns, Super Dog, Southwest Transit Station, Walgreens, illl Building, Snap Fitness, CW III,
Autobahn Motorplex Clubhouse, and Town and Country. All projects I'm involved with are
progressing well.
