Commission In~ews
Staff has scheduled ten-minute interviews for vacancies on our various
Commissions. These vacancies were recently advertised in the Chanhasscn
Villager. Thc Council will appoint commissioners to three year terms, unless
the appointee is filling an unexpired term.
Below is a recap of thc vacancies on each commission.
Senior Commigsion
Thc terms of Bobble Headla, Dale Geving, and Sherol Brooks Howard will
expire on March 31st. All three have applied for reappointment. A new
application was received Pat Kelly McGough. The Senior Commission has
interviewed the candidates and recommends that Bobble Headla, Dale Geving,
and Pat Kelly McGough be appointed.
Park & Recreation Commi~ion
The term of Rod Franks expires on March 31~t and one vacancy exists due to the
resignation of David Happe. Mr. Franks has applied for reappointment and new
applications have been received from Terri Kelly, Susan Robinson, and Teresa
Deckard. Due to scheduling conflicts, the commission was unable to interview
the applicants and therefore, no recommendation is being made.
Environmental Commi~tion
Ron Olson's term will expire on March 3 l~t and one vacancy exists due to the
resignation of Kim Hankins. Mr. Olson has applied for reappointment and two
new applications have been received from Rob Fuglie and Marcus Zbinden. Mr.
Fuglie listed the Planning Commission as his first choice and the Environmental
Commission as his second choice. The Environmental Commission interviewed
thc applicants and recommends the reappointment of Mr. Olson and the
appointment of Marcus Zbinden.
Planning Commie~ion
The terms of Allison Blackowiak and ~nn Sidney expire on March 31'~. Both
have decided not to reapply for the positions. The Commission interviewed Rob
Fuglie and has recommended that thc vacancies be republished in thc
Chanhassen Villager (this will be in the March 20th edition). The commission
recommends that no appointments be made until the response from the latest
newspaper ad has been received. (Please encourage your friends, neighbors,
constituents, etc. to apply.)
