Kurt Papke, Planning Commissioner
Kurt Papke was appointed to the Planning Commission in 2002. He served as Chair of the
Commission for the last two years. During his seven years, the commission accomplished a
number of projects including: Design Standards for multi-family developments, the Alternative
Urban Areawide Review for the 2005 Metropolitan Urban Service Area, and update of the 2030
Comprehensive Plan. Kurt was also involved in numerous development reviews including
Arboretum Business Park and Chanhassen High School; and many subdivisions, Liberty on
Bluff Creek, Settlers West, The Preserve, Pinehurst, and Lake Harrison at Pinehurst just to name
a few.
Kurt has been a resident of Chanhassen for approximately 30 years. He has lived in three
different homes in the city. With his history and knowledge of the city, Kurt has brought a
unique perspective to the Planning Commission and his passion for the city was evident in the
decisions he made.
