To assist the City Council in assessing the viability of a
proposed thanhassen Community Center. The assessment
will include the identification of preferred components
and organizational structure of these components.
A written recommendation to the City Council. In the
event the focus group reaches a consensus that a
community center is not viable, that information shall be
forwarded.'
The group's scope of responsibility is limited to the goal
dentified above. The group shall report to the City
Council through the office of the Park and Recreation
Director.
A written recommendation shall be forwarded to the Park
and Recreation Director prior to November 20, 2002 for
submission to the City Council on November 25, 2002.
The group must rely on the internal knowledge and
expertise of its members. The Park and Recreation
Director shall provide background information on a
variety of community centers in the oreo. The group may
elect to conduct a tour of selected facilities at their
discretion.
The group shall appoint one of its members as facilitator
and one member as recorder and spokesperson. The
spokesperson shall submit the groups written
recommendation to the Park and Recreation Director.
The group shall consist of 19 residents representing a
cross section of interests, ages, gender and geographic
location of residence. A minimum attendance of 15
members per meeting shall be met.
