CC SUM 2009 12 07 CHANHASSEN CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING SUMMARY MINUTES DECEMBER 7, 2009 Prior to the meeting the City Council held an executive session to discuss the City Manager’s performance review and interviewed applicants for Southwest Transit Commission. Mayor Furlong called the special meeting of the City Council to order at 7:05 p.m. The meeting was opened with the Pledge to the Flag. COUNCILMEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor Furlong, Councilman Litsey, Councilwoman Ernst, Councilwoman Tjornhom, and Councilman McDonald STAFF PRESENT: Todd Gerhardt, Laurie Hokkanen and Greg Sticha PUBLIC PRESENT: Anish Shah, 1420 Lake Susan Hills Drive PUBLIC HEARING ON THE PROPOSED 2010 BUDGET. Greg Sticha presented the highlights from the 2010 budget. Mayor Furlong opened the public hearing. Anish Shah, 1420 Lake Susan Hills Drive asked for clarification on the amount of his property tax in comparison to the market value of his home. Greg Sticha explained that the city portion of his statement remained virtually identical to last year but the county and school district portion had gone up. Mayor Furlong closed the public hearing. No action was taken on this item. CHANHASSEN TRANSIT STATION: CONSIDER APPROVAL OF COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT WITH SOUTHWEST TRANSIT. Todd Gerhardt presented the staff report on this item. Councilwoman Tjornhom moved, Councilwoman Ernst seconded that the City Council approve the Cooperative Agreement between the City of Chanhassen and Southwest Transit Commission. All voted in favor and the motion carried unanimously with a vote of 5 to 0. ANNOUNCE RESULTS OF CITY MANAGER’S PERFORMANCE EVALUATION. Mayor Furlong read off the list of accomplishments by the City Manager during 2009. Notwithstanding the City Manager’s exceptional performance in 2009, in consideration of the current economic financial conditions and consistent with the anticipated 2010 budget, it was decided there would be no change in Mr. Gerhardt’s compensation for the coming year. Councilwoman Ernst moved, Councilwoman Tjornhom seconded to adjourn the meeting. All voted in favor and the motion carried unanimously with a vote of 5 to 0.
