Approval of Arbor Day Poster Contest Winners
REQUESTED ACTION
Approve list of Arbor Day Poster Contest Winners.
BACKGROUND
This year's Arbor Day Poster Contest sponsored by the Environmental
Commission received a total of 54 entries from the 5th grade classes at Bluff
Creek Elementary and St. Hubert School. The Environmental Commission met
and chose the winners at their regular meeting. The grand prize winner was
Lauren Tritch from St. Hubert School. The runners-up were Shireen Galban,
Timmy Zeien, Nikki Peitz, Lauren Michels, Michael Anderson, Hallie Aanenson,
Skylar Risch, Hanna Lea, Annika Wellman.
DISCUSSION
The Commission requests that the City Council approve the final list of winners
and present awards to the recipients at the April 26th City Council meeting. The
grand prize winner will receive a gift certificate for a potted tree donated by Lotus
Lawn and Garden and her poster will be framed and hung in city hall. The
runners-up will be presented with coupons for potted trees that will be available at
this year's Arbor Day tree sale event on May 1.
RECOMMENDATION
Approve the final list of Arbor Day poster contest winners: Lauren Tritch,
Shireen Galban, Timmy Zeien, Nikki Peitz, Lauren Michels, Michael Anderson,
Hallie Aanenson, Skylar Risch, Hanna Lea, Annika Wellman.
