Conveyance of Property from EDA
SUBJ:
MOTION
The City Council adopts a Resolution Accepting Proposed Conveyance of EDA
Property to the City.
BACKGROUND
The EDA is the owner of parcels containing public parking lots within the City of
Chanhassen. These lots, located off ofW. 78th St. near Axel's and the Medical
Arts I & II Buildings, are commonly known as the Medical Arts Parking Lots.
(See attached map.) These parking lots are in need of reconstruction. As the City
prepares for this project and the accompanying 429 Assessment process, it would
simplify the project if the City of Chanhassen was the direct owner of the parcels.
The only cost associated with the transaction is the state deed tax, in the amount
of $1.65.
The EDA will hold a public hearing to consider the conveyance prior to the City
Council meeting.
RECCOMENDATION
Staff reccomends that the City Council adopt a Resolution Accepting Proposed
Conveyance of EDA Property to the City.

RESOLUTION ACCEPTING PROPOSED CONVEYANCE
OF EDA PROPERTY TO THE CITY
WHEREAS, the City desires to complete reconstruction of certain public parking lots
within the City; and
WHEREAS, the certain parcels containing public parking areas are owned in fee by the
Economic Development Authority in and for the City of Chanhassen ("EDA"), which parcels are
legally described in the attached Exhibit "A" ("Subject Property"); and
WHEREAS, to facilitate the reconstruction of the parking areas located within the
Subject Property, the EDA proposes to convey the Subject Property to the City;
NOW, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Chanhassen does hereby
accept the EDA's proposed conveyance of the Subject Property.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that pursuant to Minnesota Statutes Section 462.356,
subdivision 2, the City Council finds that the proposed acquisition of the Subject Property has no
relationship to the comprehensive municipal plan.
