HOUSING AND REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY MINUTES
February 15, 1979
City Hall
A regular meeting of the Housing and Redevelopment Authority was
called to order at 8:00 P.M. by Chairman Gullickson. The
following members were present: Bill Gullickson, Mike Niemeyer,
John Przymus, and Clifford Whitehill. Also present was Assistant
City Attorney Craig Mertz.
Mr. Mertz reported that he had received preliminary reports from
the HRA's appraisers retained in connection with the acquisition
of the Roman Roos office building site. Commissioner Whitehill
discussed his feeling that the HRA should attempt to gain control
of those Bloomberg Company properties which are undeveloped and
which abut the Roman Roos office buildipg site. A motion was made
by Commissioner Niemeyer and seconded by Commissioner Przymus
directing Commiss.ioner Whitehill to approach the Bloomberg Companies
regarding the acquisition of a long-term option runhing in favor
of the HRA to purchase the entire tract from which the Roman Roos
office building site is being dividedj said option to provide for
a maximum price of $1.25 per square foot upon exercise. The
following ~oted in favor: Commissioners Gullickson, Niemeyer,
Przymus and Whitehill. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Commissioner Whitehill and seconded by
Commissioner Neimeyer to call a special meeting at 8:00 P.M. on
March 8, 1979 for the purpose of (a) holding a public hearing on
the terms and conditions of the propose~ sale of the Roman Roos
office building site to Mr. Roos, and (b) taking final action on
approving the terms and conditions of such sale, and (c) holding
an informational meeting with the owners and residents of properties
within the downtown redevelopment project area. The following voted
in favor of the motion: Commissioners Gullickson, Niemeyer, Przymus
and Whitehill. Motion carried.
Commissioner Whitehill moved to adjourn. Motion seconded by
Commissioner Przymus. The following voted in favor: Commissioners
Przymus, Niemeyer, Gullickson and Whitehill. Motion carried.
