As in the past, the Task Force is required to receive a commitment from the cities that participate in order to seek reimbursement monies from the federal government for next year. The cash match has remained under $10,000.00 per city since the organization of this multi jurisdictional effort over ten years ago. Chanhassen is a charter member of the Task Force. For new members on the council, the Southwest Metro Drug Task Force is made up of the following agencies /communities: Chanhassen, Chaska, Carver County, South Lake Minnetonka Police, Mound, Scott County, West Hennepin Public Safety and McCleod County. Resources are pooled to fund for narcotic agents that work these areas. The results have continued to be positive and well worth the rather small cost to each city. If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact me prior to the council meeting at 937 -1900, ext. 128.
