MEMORANDUM
TO: Mayor & City Council
Don Ashworth, City Man
FROM: Scott Harr, Public Safety
DATE: August 4, 1997
SUBJ: Safe & Sober Grant
Attached please find a copy of the resolution authorizing Chanhassen to participate in the upcoming
SAFE & SOBER COMMUNITIES program. This project, being coordinated by the Carver County
Sheriff's Department, seeks funding from the state to have additional officers on for specialized traffic
enforcement. This will cost the City of Chanhassen nothing. All we need to do is to enter into the
agreement to participate, which we have done in the past.
RECOMMENDATION: It is the recommendation of staff that Chanhassen pass the attached resolution
authorizing us to participate in the SAFE & SOBER program.
