BOX 147 • CHANHASSEN, MINNESOTA 55317 (612) 937 -1900 • FAX (612) 937 -5739 Actioe by City Administrator MEMORANDUM Endorsed_V TXvA Moditiau TO: Don Ashworth, City Manager Reiectod FROM: Karen Engelhardt, Office Manager Date submitted to Commission Date Suhm;:ted to Council DATE: February 4, 1997 SUBJ: Set 1997 Liquor License Fees In February of each year the council establishes liquor license fees for the upcoming license period. Our licensing period runs from May 1 to April 30. Once the fees are established, license holders will be notified of the renewal process and the council will act on specific license requests in March. As can be seen from the attached survey, Chanhassen's on -sale intoxicating liquor license fee remains relatively high by comparison. In 1994 license fees were raised 4% in an effort to help balance the budget. Fees were not increased in 1995 or 1996. Chanhassen's on -sale non- intoxicating liquor license fee is fairly low, but when considering the only license holder in this category (Bluff Creek Golf Association) only sells beer for several months per year, the fee seems appropriate. The same can be said for the beer and wine license fee. No increase was proposed as a part of the 1997 Budget. A notice has been sent to liquor license holders advising them that the city council will be considering this item Monday evening. RECOMMENDATION Staff recommends that there be no increase in liquor license fees for the 1997 /98 license year and that the attached resolution be adopted by the city council. h N 3 N C O O d Cos 69 6s N Go') N GS O C 6 d9 6 69 609 4..g 4 7 O = •.° E I co d m 8 O O O p O yq O N O S O O M 6 69 6 6 6 6 rA 6 d ° W ✓1 I C 4. ° p h r O\ I 69 D• } Q h O O r O O O O T 00 O IT 7 N— O, r l y - O C O y l M O r 7^ 00 V ^ 00 N 2 O ^ O OC M UO y i M V Vi Vi b a r- 00 O, C\ O R O b ON M [ R 69 69 69 69 69 69 69 69 69 69 C (A 69 (In ( C N O C> R y } . } G W ;D C O O ° W U O O O O O O O O V1 R O vt O Gi • O O O O ....3.t .
