Possible Alternatives for Locating a Second High School
District 112
BACKGROUND
On June 4 and June 18, the Planning Commission reviewed possible alternatives for
a second high school site for District 112. Attached are the Charge Statement and a
summary of the analysis.
ANALYSIS
The Planning Commission spent the first work session reviewing the assets and
liabilities for each site. The sites that we considered were at least 100 acres in size
or properties that could be assembled to be at least 100 acres. The Commission
studied the MUSA, land use, sewer and water, wetlands, slopes, trees, access,
smTounding uses, and other issues in ranking the best sites. Attached is a map with
the possible locations and the site analysis. Two sites that were eliminated from
the study were the Moon Valley Site and Bluff Creek Golf Course. The second
meeting the commission reviewed the data and the ranked the sites.
The following is a table with the site locations and the priority ranking. The top line
indicates the 13 different sites, while the number along the side is the priority
ranking fi'om number 1 to 5.
Sites

,z 3 2 1 3
CZ 4 1 3 1 1

Site #3 (Gorra), each with two votes. In looking at all five rankings, the most
fi'equently ranked sites were Site #6 (Mattson) and Site #14 (Homeland/Prince).
