D American Legion DonationChanhassen American Legion Club Donation
The Chanhassen American Legion Club Post 580 has made two substantial contributions to
the City this year, totaling $27,211. This money has been distributed to a variety of needs and
programs in the city, including:
Park and Recreation Department: Money has been donated to fund the Wednesday Wing
Dings, a children's entertainment program in the summer; the band for the Fourth of July
Street Dance; and the Adaptive Recreation program for children and adults with
disabilities.
· Fire Department: Money has been allocated for new fire hose nozzles and new Drager
Masks so that our firefighters can communicate with each other in a burning building.
· Crime Prevention: Money has been donated the Senior Safety Seminar, a program
designed to educate our senior citizens on personal safety.
· Senior Center: Money was allocated to fund various special events during Senior
Awareness Month in May of this year.
This is just a sampling of the programs that have benefited from the Chanhassen American
Legion Club's donation. On behalf of the entire City Council, I would like to thank Commander
Bernard Hamilton and Gambling Manager Paul Differding for your generosity and please convey
our appreciation to your entire organization.
