Under the "Private Redevelopment Agreement" which oUtlines the assistance the city proVided to Rosemount for locating in our community, the city specified that their property (all 59 acres) must remain under one ownership. Rosemount is requesting a release from this condition; thus allowing them to subdivide and sell two parcels under their current proposed subdivision (Attachment # 1). It is my recommendation that Rosemount be allowed to subdivide, but only the area known as Lot 1, Block 2, Chanhassen Lakes Business Park 7th Addition. I would also recommend that the city receive 50% of the net revenue derived from the sale as compensation for using public dollars to acquire the property for Rosemount. I cannot support the subdivision of Lot 2 for several reasons. First, there-is a large stand of trees on the site. Secondly, there may be a public use for this property, such as a site for a water treatment plant, affordable housing, future school, or possible expansion of Lake Susan Park. No action is needed on this item as it will be placed on a future City Council agenda for consideration. gAadmin\tgXrosemount subd The City of Chanhassen · A growing community with clean lakes, quality schools, a charming downtown, thriving businesses, winding trails, and beautiful parks.
