The goal is to "Acquire the resources necessary to fund the services the citizens of ChanhasSen want without a significant increase in taxes." To achieve this goal, we need to develop our "Key Financial Strategies." To assist us in this area, I have contacted our Financial Consultants, Ehlers & Associates, Inc., to provide an outline of how we can achieve this goal. They recommend that we use a process similar to some of their other city clients (see Attachment # 1). I would like the City Council to review this information and to share any questions you may have about the proposed outline. You will notice that the process has four sessions, which will take about six months to complete. Please bring your calendars so that we can schedule our first session. g:X.ad mi n\tg\taxation strategy.doc The City of Chanhassen · A o~rowing community with clean lares, quality sct~ools, a charming downtown, thriving businesses, winding trails, and beautJlul parks.
