DATE: September 18, 1996 Action by City Administrator Endorsaa i Modified Rejected Dat- Date Submitted to CommissfW Date Submitted to Council 7- -R3 -9(- SUBJ: Approve Resolution Vacating Existing Right -of -Way on Great Plains Boulevard from Lake Drive East to Market Boulevard (Trunk Highway 101) Vacation File No. 96-4 In conjunction with the final platting of Villages on the Ponds, Great Plains Boulevard between Lake Drive East and Market Boulevard will no longer be needed. Villages on the Ponds will be constructing a new street system in general conformance with the City's Comprehensive Plan (Lake Drive East extension). The street is anticipated to be built sometime in 1997. Phase I of Villages on the Ponds proposes to mass grade the entire site east of Trunk Highway 101 which will require the removal and abandonment of Great Plains Boulevard. Effective September 1, 1996, a Commissioner's Order (8197 1) was signed by MnDOT relocating and reverting temporary Trunk Highway 101 designation over to Market Boulevard and reverting jurisdiction of Great Plains Boulevard back to the City of Chanhassen (Exhibit A). NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Chanhassen: 1. That the right -of -way described in attached Exhibit A is hereby vacated. 2. The City Clerk is directed to file a certified copy of this Resolution with the County Auditor and County Recorder in and for Carver County, Minnesota.
