This memo is to recommend that the Council ap a `° a the generous donation from Pillsbury of
$8,500.00 for the purposes of purchasing a radito oiled crime prevention robotic police car
(similar to the Fire Department's unit that has liven met with great success), and to fund a law
enforcement trading card program which will finable officers to have personalized trading cards
to distribute to youngsters in the community (this is a pt+ogram that has been met with great
success elsewhere in the nation).
A little history on this donation: The Pillsbury Company Foundation approached us inquiring as
to whether we had programming in place specifically directed toward young people. Last year
they were good enough to help fund_stime very basics for Beth Hoiseth's crime prevention
program, and when asked this year what we might be interested in purchasing, Beth and I made a
presentation to their advisory board for one item or the other '» and we were pleased to learn that
they wished to fund both.::>
