A special meeting of the Chanhassen City Council was called to order at 5:30 p.m. on Monday,
July 7, 1997, in the Fireplace Room at the University of Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. The
following members were present: Mayor Mancino, Councilmen Mason, Berquist, Engel, and
Senn. Staff present: Don Ashworth, City Manager; Kate Aanenson, Planning Director; Charles
Folch, City Engineer.
Grandview Road Utility Improvement Project 97 -11: Charles Folch stated that he had
previously received a petition from a number of residents on Grandview Road for public road
and utility improvements. Last May, the council tabled action on initiating a feasibility study
because one of the residents felt they could do the improvement project privately at a lessor cost.
Within the last week, on property owner's well failed and is no longer repairable, and a decision
must now be made whether the city should initiate a feasibility study.
Resolution No. 97 -49A: A motion was made by Councilman Senn and seconded by
Councilman Berquist to authorize preparation of a feasibility study for utility improvements on
Grandview Road at a cost not to exceed $2,500. Road improvements will not be included in the
project at this point in time. Additionally, a public hearing is authorized for July 28, 1997. All
voted in favor and the motion carried.
A motion was made by Councilman Mason and seconded by Councilman Berquist to adjourn the
special meeting at 5:45 p.m. All voted in favor and the motion carried. Following the special
meeting, the council met in a work session.
