Burgess, Public Works Director/City Enginee~<~ February 20, 2002 SUB J: Discussion of Special Assessment Policy and Levy Impacts REQUESTED ACTION Worksession discussion of special assessment practices in the City of Chanhassen and the levy impacts of less than 100% assessment. DISCUSSION Attached is a summary of assessment policies for several Minnesota cities. Most cities have some form of assessment, typically ranging from 25-100%. Also attached is a table comparing multiple assessment rates based on this years proposed projects. The City of Chanhassen currently does not budget sufficient General Fund dollars to not assess for projects.
