O
Glenn Stolar served as a Park and Recreation Commission member from
2002 to 2011 and served as the Chair from 2004 to 2008. Glenn is a special
individual who gave freely of his time and talents in order to make Chanhassen a
better place. When volunteers were needed, he always raised his hand. During
meetings, Glenn made guests feel welcome and carefully listened to the viewpoints
of citizens prior to forming recommendations. Serving as Chair for five years, Mr.
Stolar sought balanced testimony from all sides and ensured that every voice was
represented and heard. Difficult decisions were delivered with respect and
understanding.
Glenn was the kind of commissioner that drove home from family vacations
in order to attend scheduled meetings — he attained a 92% attendance record over
nine years. Glenn volunteered many hours helping to install play equipment at
neighborhood parks. Community special events were a favorite for Glenn and he
logged hundreds of volunteer hours helping with 4 th of July Celebrations, Feb Fest
Celebrations and Halloween Parties. Glenn was a strong advocate for investing in
parks and trails and sought to ensure that improvements served all citizens. He
was very supportive of new ideas and sought to give constructive feedback
whenever asked. The community of Chanhassen is a better place as a result of
Glenn's passion for service and his enthusiasm to get things done!
