As you are aware, I am not able to attend Monday evening's council meeting. Timing is important on this project and I encourage council members to call me if they have questions. ' The components of this project are: ' A. Chanhassen Recreation Center 1. Construct two (2) ice hockey /inline skating rinks at the area currently graded ' for them east of the Recreation Center building. North Lotus Lake Park 1. Construct one (1) ice hockey /inline skating rink at the area currently graded for it east of the existing parking lot on the site. The improvements will include the following: - Asphalt surfacing under the rink including possible concrete curbing. - Possible color surfacing of the asphalt within the rink. - Hockey boards constructed of treated wood posts and planks. Pathway improvements including the following: Construction of approximately 120 feet of 8 -ft. wide bituminous trail along the east side of Pleasant View Road from the park entrance drive to Fox Hollow Drive. Repair /replacement of a small section of the existing pathway west of the tennis courts on the site. Construction of approximately 75 feet of 8 -ft. wide bituminous trail between the parking lot and play area on the site. The financing for this project is included in the 1995 department budgets. The individual budget codes are: Chanhassen Recreation Center Fund 410 Park Acquisition & Development Fund 148 Park Maintenance (Asphalt repair and overlay) Mr. Don Ashworth September 7, 1995 ' Page 3 The exciting thing about this project is that the rinks offer the public 8 to 9 months of t recreation. By incorporating an asphalt surface for inline skating, the skating season triples. I C: Dale Gregory, Park Superintendent Jon Horn, BRW
