Not being one to abide by the "we've always Bonet that way" philosophy, I ask the
following question. Is it necessary to incur the expense to produce verbatim minutes for Park
& Recreation Commission meetings?
I maintain reams of minutes on file in my.office. Additional binders are held in storage.
Their existence does afford the luxury of being able to 'document the proceedings of all
commission meetings for the past 10 -15 years. I do on occasion refer to the minutes for
information in conducting daily business. In addition, council members can reference the
minutes to keep "up to speed" with commission activity. Js this enough to justify the
investment in word processing and. filing? In lieu of verbatim minutes, the commission
would maintain summary minutes.
What is the council's wish — verbatim or summary minutes?
