This improvement was identified in the approved Comprehensive Water Policy Plan and is imperative to meet the service demands and fire protection requirements associated with the City's rapid growth in population and industry. These specifications specifically relate to the drilling and casing of the new well into the Jordan aquifer n an estimated depth of approximately 500 feet. The process will include drilling one or more preliminary test holes to verify geological conditions. The primary objective is to locate this well where a minimum pump' caipacity of 1200 gpm can be obtained. The desired location for this new well is in the high.pressure zo (County Road 117) and Trunk Highway 41 near the "Future exte Water Policy Plan indicates that two wells will ultmiately be ne pressure zone. The estimated construction cost for this phase of the well is $160,000. Well No. 7 will be in the high pressure service zone and should allow us `to eliminate the existing booster station on Galpin Boulevard. At this time we request that the Council approve the plans and authorize bidding. Contract award could take place on June 13th or 27th.
