1965 02 11MINUTES OF THE FEBRUARY 119 1965 COUNCIL MEETING 5 Z The Village Council of Chanhassen, Minnesota, met in regular meeting at 7:45 PMS February 11, 1965 at the Village Hall. Due to heavy snow the meeting started fifteen minutes late`. All members present excep t treasurer Harold Kerbex*. Mayor Coulter opened the meeting with the Pledge to the Flag. The minutes of the last meeting were read and a motion made by councilman TessneE and seconded by councilman Hanson that the minutes be approved as read, excel for the addition of the word REGULAR to be added in front of electric bills!, MOTION CARRIED, NO NEGATIVE VOTES. Mayor Coulter informed the council that Adolph Tessness, Bernard Schneider and himself, attedded the County Commissioners meeting on Tuesday February 9th. at Chaska, and at which meeting the Personal Property Tax on household items was abolished in Carver County¢, Mayor Coulter gave each councilman a list of homeowners and business places that are using the sewer. Each councilman is to check over the list and write in the blank space provided. what he thinks the sewer services for the quarter should be and have it ready for the lst. meeting in March,'. A water report was given by councilman Tessness and he stated that the progress is going along as fast as can be expected. On a motion made by Councilman Hanson and seconded by councilman Roeser that Hubert Forcier be hired as sewer inspector for 1965. The rate of pay is to be #5x.00 per inspection, and a complete inspection to be made. MOTION CARRIED, NO NEGATIVE VOTES. On a motion made by councilman Tessness and seconded by councilman Hanson that 10,000°.00 from Sewer fund and 4,000400 from general be putt: into a Savings Account for three months as a time certificate. MOTION CARRIED. NO NEGATIVE VOTES.. #7.on the Agenda --Unfinished Business. Councilman Roeser reported that their will definitely will be a census in Chanhassen this year=. Preparations are being made. Mayor Coulter assigned Councilman Roeser to work on getting the CLC, Award for past Clerk August SinnenP Mr Ken West from Jordon Ford Excelsior brought papers to sign pertaining to the Police Cale Mr. West said that the car was ready and can be picked up at any t imei'. #8 on the Agenda --New Business lst--Building Permits --Mr. Zetah, Building Inspector, vfto was supposed to ma4e recommendations on Bldg. Permits, fees, etc. was not present, so there- fore this matter was tabled until a later meeting. 2nd, --Liquor License hearing; A votive had been sent out to Mrs Ann Koltyk, and Mr. Harry Pauly to attend this meeting and express their views on the fees for intoxicating liquor license. Both Mrs. Koltyk and Mr. Pauly were present. Mayer Coulter gave each Councilman, Mrs Koltyk, and Mr. Pauly a list if what the cities and Villages surrounding Chanhassen, receives from their intoxicating liquor licensef. On this paper each person is to put the fair amount they think Chanhassen should charge, and return it to the clerk before the next Council Meeting: j d— Fire: Contract; . -- At this meeting the fire contract with the Excelsior fire department was renewed. Mr. Dwaine Daley, Excelsior Fire Chief, and his assistant were a (Continued) present. Mayor Coulter asked them several question on how to make this a fire proof Village. Mr Daley also stated that the best assistance the Village can give their department when their is a fire is to have someone on the road and to direct the strucks to the location of the fire. He also said tha the appointment of a fire Marshall would be a very.important asset to the Village►. #9 on Agenda --Pay Bills'. " On a motion made by councilman Pauly and seconded by councilman Tessness that all bills due be accepted and paid. MOTION CARRIED. NO NEGATIVE VOTES.
