1965 02 25MINUTES OF THE FEBRUARY 25, 1965 COUNCIL MEETING
The Village Council of Chanhassen Minnesota, met in regular meeting February
25th, 1965 7:30 PM, at the Village Ha11F. All members were present.
Mayor Coulter opened the meeting with the Pledge to the flag. The
minutes of the last meeting were read, and on a motion made by councilman
Tessness and seconded by councilman Hanson the minutes be approved as read.
Mayor Coulter read a letter that will be sent to the city clerk at
Chaska, and Shakopee, the fire chiefs at Chaska, Shakopee, and Excelsior'.
the City manager of Excelsior, Francis Klein, Earl McAllister, and Tom Faust'.
pretaining to a fire,when it accures in the Village of Chanhassen, and who
is authorized to call in additional equipment.
Mr. Ray Dietz ---Village assessor, who was present, made an application
to go to assessors school at the University of Minnesota March 3rd, to the
5th: Mayor Coulter suggested that after Mr. Dietz has finished his school-
ing, that as a final teat he be allowed to assess each of the councilmens
homes, and also have the County Assessors assistant assess each of the
Councilman's homes After both have completed their assessment, to get
together and compare notes. This would enable Mr. Dietz to give a more
accurate assessment on the homes of the Village residents.
Mr Schneider --President of the Planning Commission, was not present,
so therefore their was no planning report`. Mayor Coulter wishes to have a
decision on the Plumbing Code, Electrical Code, and Building Code in the near
future-'.
The next item of business on the agenda was Setting of the Intoxicating
Liquor License fee=. After much discussion Mayor Coulter asked that each
Councilman be polled as to the fair price they think the Intoxicating Liquor
License fee should be: They are as follows;

Oh_a motion made by Councilman Tessness and seconded by councilman Hanson
that the Intoxicating Liquor License for 1965 be set at 01,750r.00P. Each
councilman was polled. Ma yor Coulter declined to vote, because he believes
a,relative is involved. Councilman Pauly ---aye'# Councilman Roeser ---aye#
Councilman Tessness---aye, and Councilman Hanson ---ayes. Therefore no neg
votesf. Motion carried. The license is to be issued at the March 11th.
meetings.
At this meeting the 3.2 non intoxicating on Sale License is also to be
set. Councilman Roeser made a motion that the 3.2 ON SALE NONiIntoxicating
license fee for 1965 be set at #1001.00 and seconded by councilman Hanson.
The motion did not carry and after much discussion Councilman Roeser with-
drew the motion.
Oft a motion made by councilman Roeser and seconded by councilman Hanson
that the 3.2 ON SALE non intoxicating license fee for 1965 be set at #125r.00r.
Each councilman was polled: Mayor Coulter declined to vote because he believe
a relative is involved. Councilman Tessness---aye# Councilman Pauly ---aye,
Councilman Hanson ---aye, and Councilman Roeser ---aye. Therefore no negative
votes. MOTION CARRIED;.

Coupcilman Tessness in charge of the water committee arranged with the
Village Engineers to have a preliminary water study at this meeting.
The Village Engineers presented the plans and approximate figures for a
municipal water s�stpa It was suggested at this meeting to continue
further study on this project°.
No further business on a motion made by -councilman Roeser and second-
ed by councilman Hanson that the meeting be adjourned.
