1965 04 23MINUTES OF THE APRIL 23rd. 1965 COUNCIL MEETING 15 The Village Council of Chanhassen Minnesota, met in regular meeting April 23; 1965 at 7:30 PM at the Village Hall. All members present except Councilman Tessness who arrived at 7:50 FRO Councilman Roesd:r and Council- man Tessness asked the council permission to leave at 9:10 Pm`, Permission granted; Mayor Coulter opened the meeting with the Pledge to the Flagg. The minutes of the last meeting were read and on a motion made by Councilman Hanson and seconded by councilman Pauly that the minutes be approved as read, No neg. Votes, Mayor Coulter invited anyone interfsted who was interested to go down to the hippodrmme on Wednesday April 28, and view the fire equipment which will be on display at that time. Mayor Coulter is hoping Francis Klein will be able to attendF: The Council instructed Francis Klein - maintenance man - to put three stop signs on Saint Aloyis Street also to check with the State on moving the stop sign closer to the corner at the intersection of hiway #101 and old #5 coming from the west,, It was also suggested to check with Harry Pauly about having the curb painted yellow in front of his Off Sale Liauor Store and have five minute parking painted on curbing. Mayor Coulter is to inform Dick Bear son --Pre s ident of Sunrise Hills+6� to inform his people that the speed limit in the Village is 30 miles per hour on all Village roads. The Coumcil also instructed Francis Klein to get several pad locks for the Sewage Disposal plant, but have one key fit all locks. This will keep out all persons not having official business there. On a motion made by councilman Pauly and seconded by councilman Hanson that all On Sale intoxicating liquor license applications be tabled for the presentf time. Motion carriedr. No neg Votes': WATER REPORT--- A hearing was held on April 20th-. It was very well attended. Mayor Coulter commended Councilman Tessness Chairman, Harold Kerber, and Emil Pauly members of the water committee on a very well plan- ned and fine job done to date on the Water project. Councilman Tessness informed the council that the Wa ter Committee had talked t nd investigated 3 different fiscal agents and that the committee feels that Ellerman and associates would be best qualified at the Village fiscal agent out of the three. It was noted at this time that Ehlers -Mann And,Associates were also the fiscal agents for the Village Sewer pro ject�. On a motion made by councilman Tessness and seconded by councilman Pauly that Ehlers -Mann & Associates Inc, be put in charge as Village financial consultants for the water project, Motion carried, No neg. Votes. On a motion made by councilman Tessness and seconded by councilman Hanson that a public hearing on the proposed Village water works system be set for Tuesday May 11th. 1965 at 8:00 PM at the American Legion Club~. Motion carried. no neg votes. The clerk was instructed to submit to the Weekly Valley Hearld the notice of the public hearing and publish it in the April 29th and May 6th. edition. The clerk was also instructed to mail to each property owner in the Village a post card informing them of 1 this hearing. Mr. Ed Hjermstad --Commander of the American Legion Post #580 and Mr 16 (CONTINUED) Dallas Capacius--owner of the Riviera Club wwre present to View their opinions on the setti4g of the set up license for the year 1965=. On a motion made by councilman Hanson and seconded by the_._.chair.: Mayor Coulter that the fee for the set up license be set at #300.00 The Council was polled: Councilman Tessness----yes Pauly ----yes Roeser ----yes ti Hanson ----yes Mayor Coulter ----No 1 neg. vote. Motion carried; On a motion made by councilman Hanson and seconded by councilman Pauly that the Village except the six non -intoxicating 3,.2 license applications,. Motion carried-. No neg.
