The Village Council met in regular meeting May 13, 1965 at 8 O'clock
P.M.�.at the Village Hall. All members present
Mayor Coulter opened the meeting with the pledge to the flag. The
minutes of the last meeting were read and on a motion made by Councilman
Pauly and seconded by councilman Hanson the 'minuted be approved as read.
Motion carried. No negative votes.
MAYOR COULTER REPORT4D: That the stop signs are now up
11 " ti That Francis Klein (Maint4 man) and himself attended
a meeting'in St. Paul, Sunday May 9th. and there
is a good possibility that Chanhassen Village
can eget Federal aid for damage to roads and sewer
extra policing and etc. for the emergency we just
had because of the tornado which damaged the Village
May 6th, 1965,
Mayor Coulter instructed Councilman Hanson to make a visual inspection of
every man -hole.
:= Mr. Gene Riley representing M. B°, Hagen Reality Co. was present. It
is their wishes to make a formal request to annex 80 acres into the Village
WATER REPORTS Councilman Tessness read the minutes of the public water hear-
ing held May 11, 1965. The public hearing was quite well attended. No one
really came out and registered a complaint. The committee would like to
procede as fast as they can. Councilman Tessness then introduced the follow-
ing resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOULTION ORDERING WATERWORKS IMPROVEMENT NO. 1965-1 AND DIRECTING
THE ENGINEER TO PREPARE DETAILED PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS.
BE IT RESOLVED By the Village Council of the Village of Chanhassen,
Minnesota, as follows:
(1) Waterworks Improvement No. 196541 as described in the notice of
public hearing dated May 13, 1965, is hereby ordered; and
(2) Valley Engineering Company of Shakopee, Minnesota., Consulting
Engineers, are hereby authorized and directed to prepare detailed
plans and specifications for said improvement.
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly
seconded by Councilman Pauly; and upon a vote being taken, the following
members voted in favor thereof: Mayor Coulter, Councilman Hanson, Council-
man Roeser, Councilman Pauly & Councilman Tessness, and their being no
negative votes whereupon baid resolution was declared passed and adopted..
Earl McAllister Village Fire Marshall present gave a report on the fire
school he attendedt. He commented the school was very interesting and he
highly recommends the Fire School to anyone this would concern.
On a motion made by Councilman Hanson and seconded by Councilman Pauly
that Earl McAllister -fire marshall make necessary arrangements with the
State Fire Marshall to go around the Village of Chanhassen and make a
fire inspection. Motion carried. No neg. votes.
Mayor Coulter stated he would like to see Chanhassen Village procede
with their Cival Defence Program and to find a man to head this program.
Councilman Tessness moves that all bills due be paid. Seconded by
Councilman Hanson. Motion carried. No nes. votes*,,
Mr. Gayle Wolff speaking as a citizen wishes to commend the work
that was done in the Village by Mayor Coulter and Francis Klein as
heading the organization for the task they did last week in our emer-
gency caused by the tornado.
On a motion made by councilman Tessness and seconded by councilman
Pauly the meeting be adjourned?.
