The Village Council met in regular meeting on August 12th. at 8:00 PM'T
at the Village Hall. All members present.
Mayor Coulter opened the meeting with the pledge to the flag.
On a motion made by Councilman Roeser and 2nd. by Councilman Hanson the
reading of the minutes of the last meeting be dispensed with until later in
the meeting.
The Chanhassen Planning Commission Met on August 10th 1965. At said meet-
ing the Planning Commission studied and considered the passage of an Ordinance
for Fire Prevention. Mr. Mark Littfin representing the Planning Commission
recommends on behalf of the Planning Commission that the Village Council
Adopt the Code of Insurance Underwriters. He also suggested the Council
adopt the full Code and not the abbreviated edition. Mr. Littfin stated that
at this time much of the full code does not apply to the present Village, but
as the Village grows alot of this will apply.
The third Wednesday in September is set aside for an appreciation dinner
for Gus Sinnen former Clerk of the Village.
The minutes of the last meeting were read and on a motion made by Council-
man Tessness and 2nd. by Councilman Pauly that the minutes be approved as
read. Motion carried. No neg votes.
FIRE ORDINANCE: On a motion made by Councilman Tessness and 2nd. by Council -
Hanson that the Fire Ordinance recommended by the Planning Commission be
adopted by Ordinance. Motion Carried. No neg Votes ( Ordinance No, 57)
0 E P CHECK RECEIVED: It was announced at this meeting that a check for the
amount of $3,980,00 was received fvom the Office of Emergency Planning for
Tornado damage which accured in the Village. The Treasurer was instructed
to deposit $3,781.25 in the General Fund. and $198.75 in the Sewer Fund.
SEWER REPORT: Any materials needed for Sewage Plant will be taken care of
by either Francis Klein or Wally Hanson.
MAINTENANCE REPORT: A bid was submitted by Lakeland Asphalt, Eden Prairie
Minnesota for the Sum of $744.00 to repair road in Scholar's 2nd, addition,
caused by the tornado. This bid includes: Clean and repair street and patch
curb, and sealed with R.C.3 asphalt and buck shot rock and rolled. On a
motion made by Councilman Roeser and seconded by Councilman Tessness that
the money to repair existing black top road in Scholer•s 2nd. Addition as
per specifications of bid submitted be taken from the OEP fund. Motion
Carried. No neg. Votes.
On a motion made by Councilman Roeser and seconded by Councilman Hanson that
the road problem in Sunrise Hills #2 Addition caused by the tornado be tabled
until Monday August 16th at 7:30 PM at the Village Hall, and any decisions
made by Council members present and property owners along the road be binding.
Motion carried. No neg Votes.
It was suggested at this time to run a storm sewer from behind the Colonial
Center South the the Rail Road Tracks,
R$ HST FOR WATER AND SEVER: The Clerk read a letter from Gene Coulter re-
questing sewer and water to be extended to his property. This letter was
turned over to Mr. Smokel Village Engineer -present, and he was instructed
by the Council to find out how much it would cost to run Sewage to this
property.
T V REPORT ON SEWER LINE: The Clerk read the T V Report which was taken of
a few s or es a Village. It was decided to leave things as is for

the time being.
.Mayor Coulter notified the Council that there is a League,Meeting
to be hold at Jordon Minn. on September 30th. Anyone interested
should attend.
POLICE REPORT: Chief of Police Francis Klein has reported that their
has been several reports this past creek of window peepers being in the
area.
The Council moves that all bills due be paid.
On a motion made by Councilman Hanson and seconded by Coubdilman Tessness
the meeting be adjourned. notion Carried. No neg. Votes
