The Village Council met in regular meeting on August 26th, at 8:00 PM
at the Village Hall. All members present.
Prior to the fleeting Gregory Redpath appeared before the Council and stated
his intentions on what he plans to do with the lots he is in the process
of purchasing from Bill Bongard. It was suggested that he meet with the
Planning Commission and the Village Engineer. Mr. Redpath presented a
petition for Improvement requesting the Village to construct and instal'.
water mains and necessary appurtenances, in the following location:
West Drive, High Street, and. South Drive Highland Park Addition.

Mayor Coulter called the meeting to order.
The minutes of the last meeting were read and on a motion made by Council-
man Hanson and seconded by Councilman Pauly that the minutes be approved
a read . 'Motion carried. No neg Votes.
PLANNERS REPORT:
Chairman Wolff of the Planning Commission gave a. report of the points of
discussion that have taken place at the recent Planning Commission Meetings
The main topic of interest has been annexation. Several Chanhassen Township
Officials would. like to see the Chanhassen Village annex the entire Town-
ship into the Village of Chanhassen. At this time no decisions have been
made as far as the Village is concerned. Mr. Wolff also requested that the
Village Council be present at the next Planning Commission Meeting which
will be held on August 31st. At this rheeting a few delegates from Sunrise
Fills and a few interested persons are desiring to be put on the agenda to
express their views on annexation. ,-Ir Wolff also would like to have the
Village Engineer present at this meeting.
Mayor Coulter reported that Ray Rettler a citizen of the Village has a
small portion of his land in the Township and is wishing to get it all
into the Village. Mayor Coulter said he would. take care of this matter.
SEWER, REPORT:
Mayor Coulter stated that no complaints have been made thus far on the
outflow from the Sewage Plant. A report was made that an estimated cost
on the proposed Storm Sewer would come to around. $5,000.00. It was de-
cided at this time to table this matter until a futute date. A letter
from 'Mr. Herbert Schmieg was read, requesting the Village to extend the
present Sewer line to his home, because he has been having trouble with
his present system. On a motion made by Councilman Tessness and 2nd.
by Councilman Hanson that $4,000.00 be taken from the Sewer fund and
placed in a treasury note until January 15th. 1966, Motion Carried, No
negative votes. Treasurer Harold Kerber reported that he has recvd. a
check of $4.20.00 (Interest from U. S. Treasury Note --Sewer Fund.)
WATER REPORT:
Councilman Tessness Chairman of the Water Committ6e reported that up to
date 40.home owners have signed up to have the water brought up to there
property line (Laterals put in) A discussion was had on how each lot
would be assessed on per front footage. The public assessment hearing
will be held on September 310th, 1965.
MAINTENAITCE REPORT:
A bid was submitted from Lakeland Asphalt Inc. for $744.00 as stated in
the August 12th. minutes. The Council approves this bid and gives thego
ahead on it. Another bid was submitted by Lakeland Asphalt Inc. to repair
road in Sunrise Hills V42 Addition, starting at the Village and Township
line and extending down approximately 2,400 feet, for the sum of $19254.75
mug
plus $65.00 extra cost on waterways for the total of $1319.75; of which
a contract was drawn up and the Village agrees to pay $1065.00 and Yr.
Robert Scholler agrees to pay $254.75. The work is to start immediat6ly.

POLICE REPORT:
On a�motion made by Councilman Hanson and seconded by Councilman Pauly
that the Village liguOLdate the position of constable. Motion carried,
no negative votes. The Clerk is instructed to have ordinance ready by
the next meeting.
Francis Klein reported that no one has been caught as of yet on the
burglery accuring at Bart's Pharmacy, Pyle Fabrics, and Tessness Hdwe.
BUDGET:
A budget was discussed at great length at this meeting. After much dis-
cussion it was decided that each councilman think over each item carefully
and come up with a figure for the September 9th. Council Meeting, and
at which meeting a mill levy must be levied for the oncoming year of .1966.
PETITION FOR IMPROVEMENT:
The Clerk then presented a ,petition for water and sewer improvement for
the Highland Park Addition presented by Gregory Redpath. After Consider-
ation of the petition Member Tessness'then introduced the following reso -
lution and moved its a adoption ----RESOLUTION? determining the sufficiency
of petition for Construction of improvements, ordering the improvements
and. providing for their construction. The motion for the foregoing
resolution was duly seconded. by menber Roeser. Motion carried, no neg votes.

On a motion made by Councilman Hanson and seconded by Councilman Pauly
the meeting be adjourned.
