1965 11 11MINUTES OF THE NOVEMBER 11th, VILLAGE COUNCIL MEETING 49
The Village Council met in regular meeting on November 11, 1965 at 7:30 PAI
at the Village Hall. The following members present: Mayor Coulter, Council-
men Roeser, Hanson and Tessness. The following members were absent:
Councilmen Pauly, and Treasurer Harold Kerber.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Coulter, the minutes of the October
28th Council Meeting were read, and on a motion made by Councilmen Roeser
and seconded by Councilmen Hanson the minutes be approved as read. Motion
carried, no negative votes.
SEWAGE REPORT:
Mayor Coulter received a letter from Tory Flatebo, Village Engineer RE:
things to be done at the Sewer Plant. The Clerk was instructed to file this
report and bring this up at the next meeting.
MAINTENANCE REPORT:
Councilmen Tessness Chairmen of 'Kaint, reported the status of the roads in
the Village. It was decided. at this time to draw up a contract with Lake-
land Asphalt for repair of road. in Scholer's addition caused by the tornado
and put the money in escrow until weather conditions are favorable to have
this work done in the spring.
It was reported that sand and salt have been .purchased. to maintain the roads
in the oncoming winter months. It was decided at this meeting that the
Village should advertise for a full time maintenance man and someone to take
care of the water system. Mayor Coulter is to get these forms and to start
proceedings immediately on this matter.
WATER REPORT:
On a motion made by Councilmen Tessness and seconded by councilmen Roeser
that all odd. size lots in the Village where water is accessible too, be
charged on a 1001 frontage at $3.50 per foot and $250.00 Unit charge.
Motion Carried, no negative votes. The clerk is instructed to send Ift.
Bongard a statement for his two lots in Auditors Sub. #2
Councilmen Tessness was assigned to get bids on extending the Sewer line on
North Drive Street in front of lots 5969 & 7 Block 1 Highland Park. This
sewer line is to be put in as soon as possible and at the same time Council-
men Tessness is to get bids on extending the water line across the Millwaukee
Rail Road to Mrs Susan Klingelhutz and Franklin Kurvers property, who have
verbally applied for water.
RECREATION REPORT:
Councilmen Roeser reported on a skating rink he has located a site on Mr.
Redpaths property. The Council instructed him to contact NSP to see about
getting lights for this project.
ELECTION JUDGES:
The Council instructed the clerk to contact Viola Buschowsky, Beatrice Cash,
and Gus Sinnen and ask if them if they can work for the oncoming election.
BUILDING INSPECTOR:
The Village hired Mr. J. W. Huber from Shakopee as the Building Inspector
for the Village of Chanhassen.
AUDITOR: The Village Council received an estimate from Mr. Herb Hoffman
Tor the sum of $225.00 to audit the Village books . On a motion made by
Councilmen Hanson and seconded by Councilmen Roeser that the Village Council
hire Mr. Herb Hoffman to audit the Village books for the sum of $225.00
Motion carried, no negative votes.
50 November 11th Meeting Continued
Councilmen Tessness reported on the water ordinance. Each Councilmen
has a copy of the proposed ordinance which they received at the last
meeting. After much discussion on this subject a motion made by
Councilmen Hanson and seconded by Councilmen Roeser that the Village
Council accept Ordinance #59 Entitled hater Ordinance as amended.
Motion carried, no negative votes.
On a motion made by Councilmen Roeser and seconded by councilmen Hanson
that the Village approve and pay all bills due. notion carried, no neg-
ative votes.
On a motion made by Councilmen Tessness and seconded by Councilmen Roeser
the meeting be adjourned. y�
