1965 11 241 MINUTES OF THE NOVEMBER 24th, VILLAGE COUNCIL MEETING i MX The Village Council met in regular meeting on November 24th, 1965 at 7:30 PAS at the Village Hall. The following members were present: Mayor Coulter, Councilmen Hanson, Tessness, & Roeser; Councilmen Pauly absent. Mayor Coulter called the meeting to order. The minutes of the last meeting were read and on a motion made by Councilmen Hanson and seconded by Council- men Tessness the minutes be approved as read. Motion carried. No neg. Votes The Village Council has been approached by a group requesting if the Village could supply them with a heated building for the use of a library. The Village Council agreed they could supply them with this requisition, provid- ed however, the .present Villagould meet their needs. ASSESSOR • The Village Assessor- Mr. Ray Dietz was present, it was discussed at length the assessing procedure to be taken during 1966. On`November 30th, 1965 there will be an assessors meeting at the Court.House in Chaska. One member of the Council and the assessor must attend this meeting. The Mayor and the Clerk volunteered to attend. SEWAGE REPORT: Councilmen Hanson reported on the sewer. Their is a little work left to be done, the Council wishes all this work layed out by the Engineer be completes before the December 9th, Council Meeting. Mayor Coulter gave a report on the delinquent sewer unit bills he has sub- mitted to various parties for payment. BUILDING INSPECTOR: The Clerk is instructed to send Mr. Zetah a letter thanking him for his services as Building Inspector and that he should submit to the Village a statement for his services rendered, because the Village has now hired Mr. Huber as a full time Building Inspector. MAINTENANCE REPORT: It was decided at this meeting that the Village advertise for a full time 'Maintenance man to be hired at the December 9th Meeting. Mayor Coulter is to bring application blanks to the Clerk. Councilmen Tessness is to adver- tise for this job. An interview will be set up with each applicant and at the December 9th meeting the man will be hired. The Clerk is instructed to invest $39000.00 from the General Fund in a Treasury note for one month. O. E. P. The Engineer is instructed to write a letter to the Office of Emergency Planning explaining to them, that it was impossible to complete our work this year because of the inclement weather. This work will have to be com- pleted. in May and June of 1966. PLANNERS Adolph Tessness gave a report on the planners. He stated in behalf of the Planning Commission that the Planning Commission wishes to have the Council approval to take steps immediately to prepare for the oncoming hearing with the M.M.C.; regarding incorporation of the Township. On a motion made by Councilmen Tessness and seconded by Councilmen Hanson that the Council ap- point a committee sonsi.sting of Gayle Wolff -Chairmen of the Planning Commiss- ion, Tory Flatebo-Village Engineer, and Russ Larson -Village Attorney to pre- pare a preliminary presentation of Village opinions pretalning to the meet- 52 NOVEMBER 24th Meeting Continued ing of Chanhassen Township on Incorporation with the DI.AI.C. Motion carried, no negative votes. It was also suggested that the Committ6e have a joint meeting with the Council no later than December 20th to present to the Council their. prelimanary report on this incorporation proceedings taken by the Town- ship. It was authorized by the Village Council that the Clerk pay the NSP bill of $1.00 on the maintenance garage. The Clerk is instructed to give Russ Larson -Village Attorney a copy of our Ordinance #44 and the letter received from the Municipal Commission to check it out. POLICE REPORT: Police Officier Francis Klein presented to the Council his day by day report of activities. They were given to the Clerk to file and may be open to the Council members any time. It was also suggested that the Police Officier check about the cost of a sawed off shot gun. On a motion made by Councilmen Tessness and seconded by Councilmen Roeser that the Village Clerk receive $600.00 for the year of 1965 retroactive January 1st, 1965 for her services rendered.
